Why Choose FuelDrive Secure Fuel Management Software?

secure fuel management

Managing a fleet and its fuel consumption is a task that many individuals in our industry do daily. To some of us, this requires periodic check-ins throughout the course of the day to make sure everything is running efficiently. To others, fuel management may take up much of the day. We all manage our daily tasks differently but there are a handful of requirements that remain the same for every one of us:

  • We want a fuel management system that will be easy to use and navigate.
  • We want a fuel management system that we can access anywhere we go, whether we are sitting at a desk or in the field completing work on a fuel island.
  • We want a fuel management system that will provide data accurately. In a nutshell, we want a secure fuel management system that makes sense.

That is where FuelDrive comes in.

FuelDrive was designed as an easy-to-use web portal for organizations wanting to manage their fleet with regards to fuel consumption and mileage tracking. The FuelDrive Island Controller Units (ICUs) can be installed and connected to the dispensers at your fueling locations and can be customized so drivers can easily authorize fuel to be dispensed while also preventing unauthorized personnel from using the system. Within the web-based FuelDrive portal, you simply need a list of employees and a list of vehicles. How they access fuel is up to you! Would you like the drivers to scan an HID fob or swipe a MAG card to verify the unit or employee number? You can do either one or both. Should the driver also enter a secure PIN number afterwards for further security verification? It is up to you! Are you tracking mileage for your fleet due to PM requirements? You can have the drivers enter the odometer at the ICU. There are numerous ways a driver can either access fuel or be denied fuel based on your organization’s personal preference. We can leave the settings up to you or offer suggestions on how to go about the customization.

The FuelDrive Data Difference

So, where is this data stored after a user finishes fueling up their vehicle? It all gets sent to our cloud-based server which is accessible from any internet connected device. You can access FuelDrive from desktops, laptops, tablets, smartphones or any device that can access a web browser. So long as the user has the proper credentials, they can log into the FuelDrive portal. This allows for a lot of flexibility on how you access and enter information within the system. If you are in a pinch and need to log into the portal to process a fuel delivery and have no immediate access to your company’s VPN network – no problem. A Wi-Fi connection, username and password will get you in to make that adjustment. Within the FuelDrive portal, you will have access to the complete list of employees and vehicles. You can view various reports related to fuel consumption that can be tailored by location, date range, fuel type, employee department and much more. You can customize alerts to be sent to your email address if there is a shortage of fuel in a tank, or if you run into local network issues preventing the ICU from being online.

FuelDrive Data Security

If additional accuracy and security is desired, we can equip your fleet with our new FJ3 technology. Our FJ3s can be installed within any vehicle in your fleet by connecting to the diagnostic port within the unit. This allows our FJ3 to communicate on the vehicle’s built-in CAN network, which provides information such as accurate odometer and engine hours, driver behavior data and telematics information. To go along with this, we also program the FJ3 devices with the unit’s card number to authorize fuel. This results in the added security and accuracy! Drivers will not need to manually punch in their unit number or odometer as that information will instead be read from the FJ3 via an antenna installed onsite. This prevents unauthorized vehicles from fueling at the location, as they will not be equipped with an FJ3 device.

There are many reasons why FuelDrive can be a good fit for your organization. To summarize, FuelDrive can provide your organization with a web portal that specializes in secure fuel management for your fleet. All data is stored on our centralized server’s location in the United States, and the web portal can be accessed by any internet connected device. Our FJ3 technology can further track and report your fleet by providing up to date meters and driver behavior data. Did I mention our customer support team is top notch to help you through any questions? So, what are you waiting for? Choose FuelDrive today!

Don’t Fall Behind Zero Emission Vehicle Regulations for Your Fleet!

Don’t Fall Behind Zero Emission Vehicle Regulations for Your Fleet!

zero emission

Zero Emission Vehicle Regulations

Current regulations include requirements that about 7-10% of new vehicles must be Zero Emission Vehicles (ZEVs) in 2025 for California. While they spearheaded this regulation, 10 other states have joined since: Colorado, Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

What is a Zero Emission vehicle?

Under the ZEV regulation, three distinct vehicle designs are considered “zero emission,” though to varying degrees.

Plug-in hybrid vehicles combine a conventional gasoline-powered engine with a battery that can be recharged from the electrical grid. These are not technically zero emission, as the gasoline-powered engine still create gaseous byproducts. That being said, it may be acceptable in some of these states’ regulations.

Battery electric vehicles run entirely on electricity and can be recharged from the electricity grid. This is what most people think of when discussing ZEVs. Automakers like Tesla, Chevy, Nissan and more have standard consumer models in the Model 3, Bolt and the Leaf. Many manufacturers have started making heavy-duty vehicles that are also ZEV to appeal to large fleets.

Hydrogen fuel cell vehicles run on electricity produced from a fuel cell using hydrogen gas. If you’re shopping for a new car, you may see this option on a couple of automakers’ websites. They’re not available in every state, but constitute an example of alternative fueling vehicles besides the standard electric battery.

1.9% of vehicles sold nationwide in 2018 were Zero Emission Vehicles

Of those sales:

  • 62.4% were Battery Electric
  • 0.7% were Fuel Cell
  • 36.9% were Plug-in Hybrid

Of almost 90,000 new vehicles registered by government entities 2013-2017, only 3.24% were Zero Emission qualified. With that in mind, that number is far below what will be necessary in the coming years to maintain compliance.

8 Key Differentiators Between FuelDrive and Basic Fuel Management Software

8 Key Differentiators Between FuelDrive and Basic Fuel Management Software

Fuel Management Software

While there are many different fuel management systems on the market, none are quite as robust as FuelDrive. With dedicated benefits for both fleet operators and fuel distributors, FuelDrive makes its mark as a unique blend of hardware and software. Check out the list below to read about eight of the key differentiators between FuelDrive and other fuel management systems.

1.      FuelDrive is powered by AssetWorks, with over 35 years of experience in the commercial fleet and fuel management industry. AssetWorks has been a leading provider of fleet and fuel management software for decades, with customers spanning the public and private sectors in North America, the United Kingdom and the European Union. With FuelDrive, you can count on this experience to help support your operations through integrated hardware and software solutions.

2.      FuelDrive’s vehicle hardware module (FJ3) possesses extended memory and available built-in options for passive GPS and driver behavior.

3.      You do not need to limit your operations to achieve success with FuelDrive. FuelDrive presents you with the ability to control an unlimited number of fuel islands, employees and vehicles.

4.      With FuelDrive, there is no need for multiple hardware units for data collection. The Island Control Unit (ICU) can also double as a Vehicle Data Controller (VDC) to collect data from vehicles equipped with FJ3 hardware when driving within 200 feet of an ICU.

5.      FuelDrive helps make fuel theft and misuse problems of the past. Small Vehicle Identification (SVID) tags can be used to secure fuel and identify the vehicle ID when third party GPS/Telematics systems are being utilized.

6.      The FuelDrive teams also offers a Mobile Fuel Control (MFC) truck mount fuel management system with the same features as the Island Control Unit (ICU).

7.      Hardware as a Service (HaaS) is a popular option for fuel management organizations today. Rather than purchasing hardware outright, or leasing it from a provider, FuelDrive provides essential fuel management equipment for a monthly fee. With FuelDrive’s HaaS model, small and large vehicle fleets get all the functionality they need, but at a more manageable and predictable cost. This provides you with the peace of mind that your hardware is under warranty and that the parts for your Island Controller Unit are covered in the event of a hardware failure.

8.      In addition to HaaS, FuelDrive also offers a Software as a Service (SaaS) model. SaaS is a software licensing and delivery model in which software is licensed on a subscription basis and is centrally hosted . SaaS differs from the traditional model because the software (application) is already installed and configured, so you see results quickly. In addition, all updates are included and are available to you immediately.

Your Virtual 2020 PEI Destination: FuelDrive, The Future of Fuel Management

Your Virtual 2020 PEI Destination: FuelDrive, The Future of Fuel Management

PEI

PEI 2020 is rapidly approaching, and despite the unusual circumstances of this year, is set to provide a robust and professional fuel management experience virtually. With that in mind, you don’t want to go into the event blind – you may want to know about one of the main products that you should be checking out. We’re talking about FuelDrive, the powerful fleet fuel management software to improve data accuracy, capture real-time data at the pump, increase security and improve your overall fueling operations. Interested? Check out some more information about what FuelDrive can do for you below:

For Fleet Operators:

1)     Save money in practical, easy-to-implement ways. FuelDrive promotes data integrity and increased pump security to save your bottom line. In traditional management methods, pumps are susceptible to unauthorized fueling from employees for personal purposes, and from outside sources that seek out fuel pumps with reduced security. FuelDrive can shut off pumps from activating without proper electronic identification from employees. In addition, the software can be utilized to only recognize a certain amount of fuel per transaction. For example, if the employee’s vehicle possesses a 14-gallon unleaded tank, the software can instruct the system to not allow diesel fuel or more than 14 gallons of unleaded per day, week or whatever time period you choose. With one centralized reporting system, human input error, lost papers and indecipherable handwriting are issues of the past.

2)     Green initiatives that further save your “green,” and the green world around you. FuelDrive is capable of measuring and securing your fuel while also recording and monitoring your fleet’s fueling habits and practices. This reporting can allow you to determine best practices for cutting down on fuel and making the most out of what you do consume. In addition, FuelDrive offers options for alternative fuels that can further help the environment and your budget.

For Fleet Distributors:

1)     Provides recurring revenue. FuelDrive is designed to ensure a stable, ongoing income from sales to fleet operators so that you can feel confident in your business while being reassured that your customer is receiving a quality product.

2)     It’s adjustable and secure. FuelDrive can scale to the size of the fleets you are selling to so that no fleet is left out. In addition, there is no loss in data integrity or physical security as it grows: more controllers will come with the same security measures, and all of the data will still be managed through one, accurate system.
